In April 2014, the founder Carolyn J Hudson was inspired to have a women’s luncheon that all women could attend regardless of financial ability. In speaking with survivors, she could hear the pain, hopelessness, and depression in their voices. Celebrate Life, Afternoon Delight was birthed because of a need to help survivors, give them hope and support. “Celebrate Life, Afternoon Delight” reaches all women. At this event, we embrace, encourage and empower them. We also connect them to community resources. At the first “Celebrate Life, Afternoon Delight” some attendees left in tears because they felt someone cares. It’s a celebration of life! For three hours in the afternoon, we pamper our guests with catered lunch, jazz band, entertainment, gifts and more.
Most survivors are silent and do not realize the resources available to them. Silent Screams reaches into the community to inform, educate and engage the community on the effects of sex crimes. Silent Screams has a virtual network of professionals, support groups, survivor and the community with a variety of subjects beneficial to life and restoration. With this help, survivors gain hope, support and realize they are not alone. A new outlook on life is not only possible but achievable. The life of the community becomes a healthier and safer place for all as the community becomes more engaged in supporting survivors. Our signature event is one way Silent Screams connects the sexual assault community with the local community. See the event information below.
The event is complimentary to all attendees. However, we petition corporations and compassionate citizens to donate or sponsor to cover the expenses of this awesome elegant event..
