Silent Screams, Silent Secrets (Texas Abortion Law)

What Do You Do?
When I watched the news about this new law, my heart began to hurt and cry out for the women who will be put into dangerous, life-threatening situations. At the same time, I was relieved that many unborn lives will be saved. One doctor who was interviewed said he performed 30 abortion a day. More than 50,000 abortions were performed in Texas in 2019. There has got to be a better answer. No one likes abortion and everyone loves choice. So what do you do? There’s panic and fear all over Texas. Fear of being put into a more dangerous situation if exposed or if the pregnancy is carried out.
So many scenarios are flooding my mind and my heart. My heart breaks for those who have mental and emotional trauma because of this law. Women are running to Mexico or other states to have an abortion. Other women who are silent about being raped and impregnated by the rapist will now be exposed because there is no exception in the law for rape or incest victims. Women who feel they have no way out sometimes take drastic measures. What would you do? Silent screams, are crying out for help.
Secrets, We All Have Them
We all have silent screams, silent secrets. Women and young girls have been silently screaming for decades, keeping secrets of abuse and oppression. Even when we have spoken our cries many times fell on deaf ears ( Silent! Why So Long? – Silent Screams Inc.) . Again, we all have silent secrets. No matter your political or religious beliefs please extend grace and kindness to those who face detrimental circumstances because of this law.
